They are truly remarkable: their genre is free-jazz-noise, and their imagery and aesthetic span a vast historical arc—one that begins with the Dionysian cults and orgiastic Bacchanalia of Archaic Greece, moves on to the grotesque-carnivalesque traditions of the European Renaissance, and finally converges with some of the most significant movements of the 20th-century Western avant-garde—specifically, that lineage of artists capable of fusing the "low" realm of the everyday with the sublimation of conceptual art (Jarry, Brecht, Beckett, Pop Art). These are acts of sorcery, consciously embracing a counter-current irrationality. *Onussen* is the band's second CD, following *Et Sise*—a work that was, in some respects, still a bit raw, yet already succeeded in highlighting the band's expressive quality and its potent *naïf* and "punk" (!) impact. Three years later, Allun thus reach a new milestone in their visionary artistic journey, marking what stands—for now—as the most exhilarating stage of this brief yet intense path. Despite a radical lineup change (which now features the powerhouse Marylise Frecheville on drums), the band's genre and style remain unchanged; however, from a strictly instrumental standpoint, one notes an intensification of sounds and arrangements featuring toys and household appliances (hair dryers, typewriters, a washing machine, and much more...). The sonic material is—as usual—disjointed and furious: at times, it will call to mind Weasel Walter’s madcap Flying Luttenbachers; elsewhere, James Chance’s Contortions; or even the "Made-in-Japan" noise of Melt-Banana and the Boredoms ("88 Giugno"). There are also little marches straddling the territory between Beefheart and Tom Waits ("Colazionsite"), and spasms à la Arrington de Dionyisio ("Zanzara innamorata"). Yet ultimately—after all this constant self-referencing and reinvention—one could simply say that your minds will frame Onussen as a curious remake of Ornette Coleman and his historic *Free Jazz*. All of it, naturally, through a post-punk lens. A final round of applause, at this point, goes to the album’s producers: the already well-known Jacopo Andreini and Bugo. In my view, the recording and mixing work here is virtually flawless—truly capable of making all the difference. But perhaps, these days, just about everyone over at Bar La Muerte deserves a compliment or two..." - BakuniM / SuccoAcido

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2606/0952/files/img155_c31596b3-1bd9-4bc7-8030-032e9c0ccdc4.jpg?v=1775743689
ovo-cicatrici-cd-cds-were-shipped-to-the-us-without-jewel-cases-the-inserts-and-trays-have-minor-creases
OVO – Cicatrici CD - CDs were shipped to the US withOUT jewel cases. It says on the cover: ‘music and lyrics composed and performed by d.b.’. Knowing it’s released by Bar la Muerte, one of my favorite italian (also worldwide) “hardcore” labels, I expected to like it, and it turned out to be correct. The music is rather well settled in the song-writing veins, a bit experimental and hardcore-flavored, also crossing over with improvisation sometimes, as in ‘Ego mangiato crudo 1’, or even ambient in the first track on the cd, which sounds like a part of a Taylor Deupree or Troum album. The last and the longest great piece ‘Stella stellina’ of almost 9 minutes has the atmospheric/post-rock touch in it, as Mogwai or Sigur Ros. RICAMATRICI (embroiderer) is her second album which has been released three years after her fist titled "Ricodi indelebili". Mixing improvisation and visual art, ?Alos (which spelled backwords means "Alone?") on RICAMATRICI explore the emotions and the thoughts of a young lady who has to face everyday's life: she dreams of becoming a diva while with her needle she puts the final touch to a coat or to a skirt. Musically ?Alos use piano and vocal improvisation (sometimes sounding influenced by Diamanda Galas or Virgin Prunes) as well as field recordings, treated sounds (like on the opening "Tulle") and violin (check the tortured atmosphere of "Ricami"). Sounding deeply personal and sincere the album is like a recorded performance: try to imagine Stefania on a deserted factory (like as reported by the booklet's photos) allowed to running free exploring the sounds of the objects trying to feel the emotions of the workers that used them." - Maurizio Pustianaz / Chain D.L.K.

Bologna Violenta – Il Nuovissimo Mondo CD

"If you know of Bologna Violenta, you already know what to expect. To understand, you need a hearing. And a play can not leave us indifferent. What do enjoy or be horrified, this disc is so strong to ensure that each step in the player marks a point in the days of the listener. Beyond the tastes and what you are doing, "The Brand New World" burst into the granite to create a bracket that shakes the foundations. For twenty minutes the head and ears are filled with a sound that does not ask to be metabolized, but is content (like little) to hit heavily and without extenuating circumstances. For this reason, it makes no sense rattle off references, inspirations or microscene. Would be to do an injustice to a disk it wants - and knows - to speak only on instinct rather than through a successful implementation of a sound of human instincts less rationalized, or violence. Like a few horror movies, knows how to be raw without falling in the Baroque style, pushing away groups and styles that their violence and death would elect a dominant theme. This victory is achieved with a sense of irony that comes out strong in the spoken interludes. Which deal with infanticide or transplants f*cking fail in a few seconds to give a key to decisive and very clear to the entire work. Fragranze Silenzio sees the author embellishing his cryptic poetry with very minimal layers of electronics ranging from glitch to loops, tense ambiences, noises, hanging bass tones, but clearly the beloved guitar has a centre role. The melange is very subtle and so well conceived that it all sounds easy and natural, unless of course you go on and dissect the whole into its ingredients. And less, less, less is the dogma. With very few exceptions, there are no melodies as such and Daniele's trademark spoken words and hermetic lyrics sit in there just as if they were another sonic component. Most tracks are bodied by rhythmic loops that add movement, and laying a perfect foundation for the visionary experimentalism that makes each track a little pearl. And if you're fond of refined and suggestive music, don't let the word experimentalism scare you. There isn't any hint of chaos, or cold abstract sciolism across the forty minutes of this album. Even with the title track closing the album and making up for almost of it in fact, where all the brakes are loosened, the epic repetitiveness of the guitar chords doesn't carry the bite of a similar venture by, say, Swans or similar, but seems to rather offer the listener a lift from Daniele's obscure reflections down to the real-bodied world. Subtle, fragile, are adjectives that one can find in virtually any of my previous reviews of Brusaschetto's albums, and these apply as much to this, even if to a much lesser extent when compared with his most recent works. His experimentalism is a pretty personal affair, one that makes each of his albums a solid chapter, and this particular one, one of my favourites." - Gianfri

Le Singe Blanc – Babylon CD

"Bar La Muerte, label of Bruno Dorella (Wolfango, Ronin, Ovo), if it supports the Italian distribution of another chic alternative, dopo l'ottimo heavy jazz of Italian-French Very Short Shorts.

The White Monkey, an apt trio (due to bass and battery) of Metz, was the fifth album in the last year of his career, manifesto without titolo and dalla copper of the melting pot that staunchly conquered Europe.
