Before the worldwide explosion of El Guincho, Coconot had already recorded an album, "Novo tropicalismo errado" (BCore, 05) that showed the taste of the band for exploring new sounds, combining experimental (almost Kraut-) rock with latin music and caribbean sounds in a punk environement. That album was recorded in three days and showed the urgency to fulfill an artistic restlessness that had been in their minds for years. The result was satisfying, but it is now, with "Cosa Astral", when the trio has really worked hard to achieve their goal: twisting pop music schemes beyond the limits of the "tropicalism", "psychodelia" or "space". The imaginary of "Cosa Astral" is wide, supernatural and almost extraterrestrial, colored by energy and passion, like if songs were constellations, reefs or cliffs. To make this album, the trio worked during months to define the direction to follow, with the idea of writing pop songs in spanish with a radically different approach, applying their ability to experiment to a new sound, more natural and played differently than how pop is normally conceived. Guitars sounding like keyboards, keyboards sounding as bizarre horns and woodwinds and avoiding too common beats. The light in "Cosa Astral" comes from a renewed illusion, like the lightning that appears in many of Pablo's lyrics. A parallel history to the success and media interest that generated "Alegranza", the first and acclaimed album by El Guincho. As a difference, Coconot doesn't use samples as much as real instruments, and the explosion of tastes, shapes, landscapes and natural exuberance keep the joy and faith on the good things of this world." Juan Monge (PlayGround, Rockdelux)

crim-blau-sang-vermell-cel-lp-one-of-the-corners-of-the-cover-has-very-light-wear-from-shipping-to-the-vendor
Crim – Blau Sang, Vermell Cel lp - one of the corners of the cover has very light wear from shipping to the vendor

Crim – Blau Sang, Vermell Cel lp

One of the corners of the cover has very light wear from shipping to the vendor.

Crim were presented with an important yet diffcult challenge after publishing what was touted as the "best punk rock album" in Spain in 2014. And that’s the case of Half Foot Outside, with albums released since 1998 in various record labels. They started back in 1995 in Pamplona, their debut being called “So called…”, a punk-rock record close to the most melodic and poppy sound of the bands at the time. Their musical spectrum grew faster and was reflected in the roughness of “Paint red”, a record full of complex and brilliant structures and melodies. But most of all, Half Foot Outside’s musical capabilities were best shown on “New ad ideas” (Bcore, 2001), a stonishing record full of energy behind every break, every riff, every melody. After Hans leaving the band to be a part of John Palmoore and being replaced by Brian Hunt (also guitarrist in Kids Go Free), added to Carlos’ departure from Standstill, where he was also playing for the “Memories Collector” album and tour, the guys from pamplona were back in 2004 with their most mature record to date, the most elaborated and bravest record they had ever made. “It’s being a hot hot summer” (BCore, 04), showed strong rock music with their personal touch that makes us think of Superchunk and Dinosaur JR. mixed with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Motorpsycho. CD

Here comes the new sound, the new attitude and the new album from Tokyo Sex Destruction. The four from Vilanova have found a gap in their busy schedule of concerts in Europe and the United States to record 11 new songs that confirm what we all suspected: behind the savagery of their live shows, their defiant and brazen attitude, their passion for lack of control and sweat on stage hides a band that knows how to play, that knows perfectly what it's doing and that has achieved the perfect balance between chaos and live delivery and solid, well-worked and well-rounded compositions. The Sonics and MC5 are still in the basic coordinates of the band, although in this Black noise is the new sound the band has uncovered its passion for psychedelia, arrangements of all kinds (percussions, keyboards, harmonicas...) and its good to do when it comes to combining mid-tempos and themes close to psychedelic pop with the wild signature themes to which they have accustomed us after their first two references Le red soul comunnitte (10 points program) and The big red box for the syndicate of emotions. The band has grown, their points of view musically have increased and the retro winks of their music no longer only cover the garage rock'n roll of their beginnings, but they venture into sounds and structures that can remind us of the Doors in equal parts. , The Animals, Hendrix or The Kinks. We find on this album some Tokyo Sex Destruction who want to sound direct and close (once again the work of Santi Garcia at the recording controls gives the band an old, raw and unartificial sound), wanting to show that they perform well in the sonic storm of songs like The bridge or New magazines and from there move on to the pop melodies of Birds on the velvet roof in the same way that they give free rein to their more experimental and psychedelic vein in songs like Black cold heart or Soul party N.2. A whole treaty of rock'n roll, soul, psychedelia and punk self-confidence on the album that confirms Tokyo Sex Destruction as a great band that can move with ease both in purist rock circles and in the punk scene and basically anywhere. where sincere, direct and honest music is valued. As a preview, this wonderful single, This living kills, offers us something completely new, and genuinely its own. Because the fact that a group is capable of constantly reinventing itself, maintaining and deepening its own personality, and at the same time fearlessly incorporating all those elements that it considers appropriate in its music, undoubtedly makes it a living, creative group. And, on this occasion, The Unfinished Sympathy have reached a point where their personality goes beyond stylistic corseting; whatever they do, they are recognized. And that is something that few groups can boast of, even more so when the copy, the clone, is what prevails. Their career, from that Silhouettes (Underhill, 02), through Delorean (Bcore, 04), has been that of a group in permanent search for the tension between the organic and the synthetic; a tension that was already sensed in the New Wave airs of his debut, and that entered into an open fight in his successor, combining the coldness of neon with the warm beating of the human heart. The guys from Zarautz give, in this peculiar release (four new songs almost identically titled plus their corresponding remixes), the last twist they had left to define their peculiar sound, moving away from trends to delve into science, coming up with the most balanced combination of drums (Igor), bass (Ekhi) and guitars (Tomás) (real, not sequenced) with analog keyboards (Unai) and dance syncope that they have offered us to date. Ekhi's howls bring the set to a lysergic climax as they break the stiff bass drum to quarter notes, and their lyrics (a nod to The Smiths included) make them true chroniclers of metropolitan club culture seen from the perspective of youngsters. punks who long ago tired of the walls of guitars to delve into the bowels of dance and nightlife. Neither to cry for unrequited love or claim the advent of the revolt of the proletariat. They speak of viscera and ectoplasm. Because you can't (nor do you want to, in your case) talk about something else when you take your music group in such a peculiar way as they take it. Just by saying that the time to make this album is no more than three days, to compose and record it, we can already see that here things are going in other directions than we are used to. Obviously, three days are not enough to create a minimally decent album from any other group on our same label. But when it comes to capturing, simply, a very specific moment of personal expression on a record, not only is it understood, but it is recommended -because thinking about something too much makes it lose spontaneity- that everything goes very quickly and with temporary current overload. For this reason CocoNot's debut is such a special album, because it is not an album conceived as such but rather an improvisation recorded in the manner of free jazz. Although there is no jazz here (although a lot of free), since the elements with which Pablo (also in the Orquesta de la Muerte and Dead Man On Campus) and Alfredo, a duet of Canarian cousins living in Barcelona, give free rein to his adrenaline rushes are the drums, the voice and a guitar. Seasoned with the occasional technological gadget, four percussion instruments and a flute, the ten songs on Novo Tropicalismo Errado (with a version by Sun Ra included) are the result of a spontaneous, challenging and carefree creative explosion, with the peculiarity that they also Being a faithful reflection of the personality of two restless minds, they have the ability to conquer our retentiveness at the first listen, and offer us a true orgy of melodies and vocal and rhythmic fuss in record time. That, and an almost sickly creative hyperactivity, are the main reasons why we already have in our hands The Linn Youki Project's third album, after the second installment (02) in 2005 and the first (#1) in 2004. three references, united in a continuous evolutionary line, show the good work of a band that with #3 reaches a maturity that, not because it is missed on its first two albums, is evident with the most elaborate and conscientious album that Marco Morgione , Xavi Caparrós and now Ramon Aragall, accompanied by distinguished collaborators from the Barcelona underground scene, have recorded to date. Because if technology, the compulsive use of samplers and programming is the seed of their compositions, it is in the organic aspect where the group demonstrates its extra mastery. Ramon's drums absorb Marco and Xavi's double set of basses towards his field, solidifying a rhythmic base that always gives prominence to the layers of sound generated with samplers, analog synthesizers (more present than ever), piccolo basses, electric clarinets, trumpets, vocoders, saxophones and trumpets and endless auditory resources. And, on this album and as a tool specially used for the occasion, the human voice as the nerve center of the discourse, although it is never sung except when it is the Copernicus Choir who expels the air and almost always treated synthetically. The band had never been so close to post-rock or free-jazz, or seventies score, thanks to a renewed jazz vision of the rhythmic base, combined with a masterful use of wind instruments. A greater roughness in the textures to the detriment of the naïve of his previous references, removing color from his cartoons to give them a charcoal texture, adding seriousness to a discreet and elegant surrealism and betting on the organic factor in front of the computer. And, in this new and more complex bet, successes come one after another, supported by the collaboration of such active members of the Barcelona underground as La Orquesta de la Muerte (with members of Nisei), Jens and Jaime from 12Twelve, Víctor Nubla, Xavi Tort and the specially invited Ainara LeGardon. It is difficult to speak of maturity in a group that has always been mature and has always walked one step ahead in the national post-rock scene, but, even so, The Linn Youki Project can boast of having culminated an impressive trilogy with a work absolutely adult made by lovers of the childish.

Tokyo Sex Destruction – Singles CD

These nine songs, once recorded (as usual in the band, by Santi García), are available exclusively for digital downloads worldwide since this past March. Hyperactive activists of their music scene, since the beginning of this decade they have not stopped organizing all kinds of underground events in Valencia; concerts by independent groups, edition of fanzines and, above all, a musical career based on experimentation. From the masterful debut double vinyl release of their first relevant band, Balano, in 2000, through the creative delirium of their second great project, Sausage, to their most solid band, Estrategia lo capto!, the Junquera brothers have demonstrated his enormous creative talent and his even more impressive acting skills. And even more so now, joining forces with Jonathan, a member of Le Jonathan Reilly (Carmen Diablo Records) and creator of the excellent fanzine Chilena Comando. But, above all, they are characterized by an incomparable erudition in terms of knowledge about musical avant-garde, and a very healthy way of understanding independence and experimentation, without denying mainstream influences, advocating good music as the only leitmotiv of their career, researching and promoting interesting and, above all, free-spirited music. Always related to post-rock, delving into the instrumental possibilities of Marcos' drums, Fernando's guitars and Jonathan's bass, and using the voices in an impressible and sporadic way, it is now, with Strategy I get it!, when his skills and musical eclecticism reach their maximum splendor. The list of groups that stand out for their influences is long and mysterious (22 pistepirko, Pell Mell, Massacre, Pere Ubu or Skin Graft), but linking them with Man or astro-man?, the sci-fi series B, the sonic terrorism and scary comics is no aberration. Surfer guitars more typical of decadence than of the beach sun, violent rhythms inherited from GSL groups like The Locust, post-punk grooves, eighties melodies and a strong dose of irreverence and sense of humor, far from snobbery and small-time intellectualism . Because they appear and disappear from the map whenever they feel like it, with the peculiarity that, every time they disappear, they leave us with candy in our mouths, wanting more and wondering when we can hear them again. After their adventures with their previous group, Porfideo RubIrosa, with whom they toured the state alongside the mythical Belgian Quetzal, they started with Qualude with the aim of abandoning the obvious, the obvious of indie rock and focusing on its instrumental part, delving into its complexity and get closer to experimental rock or post-rock. And they did so well that they became not only the flagship of Alicante's 13 Grabaciones label, but also the greatest exponent of the Alicante underground and one of the most famous of the Valencian in general. And when after his brilliant self-titled debut in 2001, his memorable presentation tour around the state with Engine Down, his qualification for the final part of the Villa de Bilbao and his memorable performance in the mecca of fans of the genre, the Sant Feliu Fest of 2002, they decide to abandon their activity as a group and dedicate themselves to personal chores, the absence is felt. But the popular outcry tightens, and in 2004 they decide to reactivate, not without adding a new twist to their music: the voice enters the scene, yes, as one more instrument and not as the leitmotif of some compositions that continue to delve into the instrumentation. The trumpet, present since its inception, now makes more sense than ever in its melodic projection and all the songs find the right balance between experimentation and intelligibility, recharging less, letting you breathe and enveloping everything in a disturbing but fragile atmosphere. The cause of his concerns and this wonderful The Order of Things (BCore, 07), a wise mix of direct influences (June of 44, Slint, Shipping News, Smart Went Crazy), combined with the atmospheric influence of Spacemen 3 or the Velvet Underground and, above all, with the devotion to Charles Mingus, Chet Baker or Miles Davis. A whole range of sensitivities collected by three other qualified sensitivities: those of these three musicians who take avant-garde rock one step forward, but not to mix with the baroque, the intellectual and the snobbish, but quite the opposite: to express their simplicity with the simplicity of a battery, a bass and a guitar, extensions of their brains and limbs.

The Mistake – Anticongelante CD

Very interesting new material from The Mistake. We have known them for a long time because of their affiliation to the post-hardcore sound, being the maximum exponent of that style in the Canary Islands (along with This Drama or Daylight in Red), with previous works recorded by Xavi Navarro and Santi Garcia and, always under the coordinates of a genre little given to outbursts of pop air tone. But something has happened within the Canarian trio to open up a heaven that perhaps not even they themselves had foreseen: and that is that they have discovered their own talent for concentrating their energies on melody and, far beyond that, on endless of resources that pop music puts at your fingertips when you are not prejudiced against assimilating it. And, when we talk about pop, we mean rabidly contemporary pop that drinks from punk as well as from synthesizers, and even from acoustic restlessness when the song deserves it. Thus, we find in Antifreeze a variety of resources, including styles that, always under a common pattern, make The Mistake a commendable modern group. We will find a thousand references that we would not have to relate to each other unless we understood that they are united by a mantle of veteran, lack of prejudice and musical restlessness outside any complex. That voice in Spanish that brings them closer to our Nueva Vulcano, but also those keyboards between Interpol, Futureheads and even Maximö Park, or those introspective acoustics close to Mr. Chinarro or Los Planetas, without forgetting the punch emocore of its beginnings, reminiscent of Sensefield, Chamberlain or Superchunk. Probably this amalgamation of genres, mixed with coherence and impeccably executed, is typical of a group with a career of more than 10 years of The Mistake, who after two excellent albums like Opium (13 Recordings/La Felguera, 2001) and Polaroids (2005) , have led them to consider this, the third, as a second starting point of their career.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2606/0952/products/tm_a1e9ddd9-acd1-42f8-b9b9-e52ccb0bcc22.jpg?v=1657818104
madee-lantarctica-cd
Madee – L'Antarctica CD

Madee – L'Antarctica CD

It is known that pain is where many times the most brilliant works are born. Sometimes the pain is destructive, paralyzing and obtuse. Sometimes the pain turns into rage and lack of control and crashes you into a wall. And sometimes the pain becomes irony. That is when prejudices disappear, when the orthodox does not matter, when everything matters nothing and the only motto to move forward is to open all the doors that previously seemed impossible to cross. Undoubtedly many more than the Barcelona City Council would like... if it had investigated, it would have found the origin of such a famous phrase... those punks, marginals, agitators, rabid and ingenious who knew how to intelligently kick the system. That band called L'Odi Social. Maximum exponents of 80s Barcelona punk-hardcore along with bands like Subterranean Kids or GRB, L'Odi Social marked a turning point by singing in Catalan, a language that, apart from the singer-songwriters and some isolated pop groups, is barely known. used among the punks of Barcelona. With a fine sense of humour, as well as a bad milk resulting from a complicated historical moment, L'Odi Social were an indisputable reference point for an entire Catalan social scene, that of the Squats, that of protest festivals, that of the less politicized left, closer to anarchism than to communism, and with its own linguistic conscience. A scene that began to be born in the 1980s and without which Catalan left-wing activism would not exist today at the underground level. That was probably not his intention at all. Probably these punks from Barcelona just wanted to express their disagreement with the system, be it through their corrosive lyrics, their provocative attitude or their extreme music. But they did so with such eloquence and energy that echoes of their legacy can still be heard today. Born in 1982 as Odio social, a name under which they would perform mainly in the areas of Catalonia and Euskadi, they took an unusual turn when, in 1985, Poly, Saina, Gos and Damned decided to rename themselves L'Odi Social and write the first lyrics of a Catalan hardcore group in their mother tongue. In 1986 the famous single Que pagui Pujol would be published, and his performances at festivals such as Nicaragua Rock, Mili KK, etc., would make a dent in an entire generation. After a tour of Germany, in 1990 Basati Diskak would release his first LP, Esventats, and the Potential HC label would release another LP, also called Que pagui Pujol, which would include the homonymous single plus 8 unreleased songs. 1992 saw how the band decided to split up, although there was a fleeting return in 1997 to headline the No Pasarán festival in Barcelona and one last performance at El Laboratorio in Madrid. The story would end with the release of two anthological CDs in 2000 by the El Lokal label and a video, Piel Roja Live.

Lavodrama – Zurich CD

With It's close, that's what matters (BCore, 07), this trio made us get up from the armchair with a volley of energetic post-core that we hadn't heard since the days of Aina. One of the great maxims of popular music, which should be for everyone, sometimes even in a deeper way than we are going to make art. That maxim is what Linn Youki have decided to take to the ultimate consequences in their long-awaited fourth record release. Not that they were previously overly twisted or dark or serious, they have always been characterized by an open-mindedness and a lack of complexes out of the ordinary. But in #04, creative freedom reaches its maximum splendor. And, perhaps for the first time, we find ourselves with an album made without the slightest hint of modesty, not designed to please anyone but generated in a moment of vital splendor by a group of friends who close the premises to have fun, to laugh , to leave behind the hardships of daily jobs, the artistic pressures and the gray seriousness that surrounds the day-to-day life of so many young people from Barcelona. As is already the house brand, #04 is made up of curious and cheeky samplers, dressed with real and virtual instruments, without the border between the organic and the cybernetic being noticed, with the added incentive that, for the first time, great part of the voices are sung, real, by the musicians themselves. They still (since their debut album) sound like a cartoon. Perhaps that is its most intrinsic reason for being; music that could have been made by and for children, although performed and arranged with a maturity typical of someone who perfectly masters the most modern production techniques. But the fantastic ingenuity of their sound reaches a level of originality that makes them really unique and great. No one, absolutely no one sounds like them. In addition, the role of Marco Morgione, Xavi Caparrós and Jordi Pérez as musicians is inseparably mixed with their role as producers; recording and mixing with a computer in their premises, in their homes, in any corner with a good natural reverberation, allows them to have all the creative power in their hands, and that further favors their abstraction from the rest of the world. And, as the icing on the cake, they go to another home studio, that of the great Joan Miquel Oliver (Antònia Font) to finish off an album that sounds as powerful as it is subtle.

La Célula Durmiente – Miente! All this with a background of goalscoring instinct and the nose of a wolf in the musical steppe, with the unmistakable mark of talents in freedom, without hesitation. The small action group is based on the memorable left hand of Joan Colomo, a seasoned character, since before puberty, in a unique way as a living member of the mythical Zeidun, and who has already become a key influence in the Barcelona underground with his many solo appearances, imprinting on each night the mark of a singular, unrepeatable, catalytic voice.

A man who explains the songs, sometimes before, sometimes without just singing them... Luckily, those kinds of phrases don't upset us too much, quite the opposite of what happens to us with good music. Persona have once again demonstrated with their third album that they are one of the most powerful groups yet to be discovered for the vast majority, and that the ability of the handy trio to compact their sound is amazing. Without fissures or hesitating movements, Persona are becoming one of the most solid concrete blocks of state alternative rock, drinking from North American references that go from one coast to the other, between the relative dissonance of Washington DC and the darkness of primitive grunge. And despite this, it is difficult to find a name that defines them better than their listener. And even more so with the steps forward they have taken since their second album, Accident (BCore, 2006). Much more careful voices, much richer in nuances and harmonies, that raise the music to the clouds so that later the drum base and bass make it put its feet on the ground. At times, in the middle of hell of convulsive magma. A definition in each touch, in each beat, which, effectively, starts in the 90s to launch itself in search of contemporaneity. Perhaps that is its greatest virtue, updating a sound that has no intention of indulging in indulgence, but instead seeks to constantly surprise, with the only apparent motto of delving into the listener's entrails over and over again. And the truth is that the result has surprised and captivated us, since the album flows in a constant balance between the punch and the caress, and if that is already interesting canned in a studio recording, we don't even want to think what can happen in the front row of one of his concerts. Pure physics, its thunder oozes elegance and its capacity for sound introspection manages to make anyone who intrudes into the depths of this excellent album travel.

Elvira – Pequeños Apuntes Para Canciones De Mierda CD

The walls of the city are falling on you. Its epilogue, the EP Invasion of the Ultrabodies (BCore, 2008) was as brilliant as it was short in duration, and that is why we warmly welcome The New Raemon's second album, The Twilight Zone, which brings us another good handful of songs endearing, with ingenious lyrics, neat melodies and comforting sensations. Conceived more as a band album than a singer-songwriter, it shows perfectly complemented musicians after a long season giving concerts throughout the state, and adds some ingredients to the whole; a certain dose of darkness, as in the mysterious The Great Fall and The End of the Empire; a luxury orchestration in Dramón Rodríguez and a devastating sadness in Por tradition. Although those who enjoyed Apropos of Garfunkel need not worry; the fantastic beginning of the album, with the triad La siesta, Estupendmente and Variables will give them another dose of that I don't know what has stolen the hearts of so many of us. To many, if they asked us which is the most autochthonous group, most deeply rooted in Barcelona, we would say Nueva Vulcano. A true cult phenomenon that has become the group of many. Not only the favorite group of many, but the group that represents many. Sometimes, certain more or less cryptic poetry, accompanied by visceral and uncompromising music, penetrates so deeply among its followers that admiration for a band becomes a cult; in the ritual of going to absolutely all their concerts, in the ritual of collecting each single or each album that is released from them. Not content with having injected a revitalizing dose of freshness into The Unfinished Sympathy, nor with captaining La Célula Durmiente, the most free-thinking and free-playing group in the state, in addition to continuing to rehearse with the classic and influential Zeidun, Colomo has pulled a solo album that represents one of the most interesting and refreshing surprises of the season. With his well-known cultural bicephaly, between his Navarran roots and his roots in the Montnegre hills, Colomo gives a revolutionary twist to the Castilian song and the Catalan song; with unpublished lyrics in him to date, we are discovered as a master of the protest song, with political nihilism as head and love for human relations as an alternative to mundane dirt, Colomo confronts a brutal aggressiveness of content with a moving formal candor. The musical eclecticism that has always characterized him is also present here, although far from the canons of rock to delve into acoustic instruments, orchestral arrangements, sometimes circus-cabareteros and always combined with good taste and musicality typical of a master of the melodies, harmonies and arrangements. Allied with his partner in The Unfinshed Sympathy, Iban Puigfel, playing the role of producer at his Nautilus studios in Arenys de Mar, and supported by old friends such as Narcís Prats (drummer for La Célula Durmiente), Xavi García (bassist for Zeidun and drummer of Els Surfin\\' Sirles), as well as Inés Mtz. de Albornoz (musical couple in Célula and in real life), Dani Navarrera (Luna Roja, Panorámica) and Marçal Calvet (Orquestra de Sant Celoni, Mumusic Circus), Joan Colomo has found a new vehicle of expression, probably the most personal and intimate of the many he has piloted in his prolific musical career, undoubtedly positioning himself as one of the most authentic, brilliant and innovative singer-songwriters on our music scene.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2606/0952/products/jc_833cfb8a-a4b5-422d-865a-c36864f13bd0.jpg?v=1664481453
charades-revolucion-solar-cd
Charades – Revolución Solar CD

Charades – Revolución Solar CD

What would the pop and psychedelia of the Beach Boys, Os Mutantes or Love be like in the year 2010 of our era? Charades have the answer. After several months disappeared, immersed in their particular revolution and determined to do what they want, Charades return, confirming that the promises that Nowhere (BCore, 08) forged are a solid reality. After the excellent reception that this work entailed -a barrage of excellent critics, the international edition and dozens of concerts-, this is one of the most desired albums of the year. But let no one expect the formula to repeat itself. Solar Revolution sounds more like Charades than ever, but Charades that we had never heard.

This new installment once again embraces the values of the 60s: imagination, freedom, beauty, love and experimentation, but we are in the 21st century. Although the referents and his cultivated taste are clear, there is not an iota of revival here, nor mimicry of pop, rock or folk. Solar Revolution is a psychedelic, tribal, deep and beautiful pop album; where, taking elements from each and everything that inspires them, Charades have built a wonder from start to finish. Strange and crazy rhythms intermingle with precious and distinguished melodies; synthesizers of all kinds (even techno!) harmonize with acoustic guitars, organic percussions are enveloped by a cloud of delays and their lyrics -more sincere, painful and beautiful than ever- open our heads. Charades experiment, build and deconstruct as they please and win. Because they keep making round, perfect and moving songs. How different this Ümelsion is from the majority of albums made by groups on the scene, due to its ability to assimilate with the same permeability the Machiavellian halo of NoMeansNo's psychotic hardcore with the rough sweetness of Jay Retard's wall of sound and the dramatic joviality by Built To Spill.

They were formed in Madrid in 2004, and at one point they were recording their debut Dilitid (Arindelle) with Santi Garcia. Some things motivated them to believe that it was worth going further with the group, such as the enthusiastic response of the public at their concerts, the good reception by the press, and the possibility, which would be achieved, of being able to work with people as mythical for any punk-rocker as Stephen Egerton (Descendents, All). And it is not our intention. But it is true that it is difficult for us to disassociate the fact that The Mistake are canaries from the nature of their music. And if we start to analyze what is the factor that, unwittingly, makes us look towards the archipelago, from a strictly musical point of view, we dare to venture that it is a matter of voice. Doesn't Dani's volatile way of singing transport us to non-urban landscapes, to a splendid nature that is suggestive during the day, at night, in front of the sea or on top of a mountain? The Mistake's music lacks the grime of suburban cities, the competition-fueled bad blood and unbridled stress of metropolitan capitals. And perhaps therein lies its beauty: its music is, plain and simple, beautiful. The guitars and the bass and their playful and evocative chores are beautiful; That voice we talked about is beautiful, deep and ethereal at the same time. And those lyrics from a mature pen are beautiful, sincere and with a tendency to a delicious melancholy. Even the elegance of the rhythms overwhelms us to give the ensemble that presumably Canarian atmosphere that, perhaps from the stupid metropolitan perspective, the music of The Mistake suggests to us, as if it were a liberation towards naturalness, towards nature. Because if you listen to his music in a superficial way, you will probably relate it to the sound of a stampede of rhinos in the African savannah; runaway, chaotic, dusty, stabbing and crushing. Probably the Valencians Betunizer are satisfied with that assessment, since it is clear that they have not come to this world to make life easy for anyone, or to pamper our lives, or to enthrall us with their delicacy. What they may not even know is that the care with which they take care of every detail turns them into jewelers disguised as sweepers. It is difficult to find drummers with a sense of order, detail and dynamics, as well as ferocity and noise, as pronounced as in the case of Marcos (known for his walks in Balano, Estrategia lo capto! or La Winning Horse Orchestra). Or bassists as technically ruthless and with as long a ride on their bass neck as Pablo.
