Janne Westerlund might be better known for his guitar work in Circle, Pharaoh Overlord, 1990s Sweetheart and other Finnish left-field indie/noise rock obscurities, but his acoustic solo work is something else. If you think of early Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake playing songs of early Nico lps you might get an idea. Dark, poetic, hypnotic and sometimes kraut-like jamming on top of minimalistic beats. Sung in Finnish but don't let that stop you from checking the beauty of his music.
